WHERE DOES THAT FIRE COME FROM? 🔥 I’ve coached kids from the inner cities of the US and kids from Queensland. And I’ll tell you the truth most people won’t. Some of my American kids grew up with nothing guaranteed. No safety net. Basketball wasn’t a hobby, it was the way out. The gym was warmer than home. The court was safer than the street. When you’ve seen what happens if you don’t make it, “comfort zone” isn’t even a phrase you know. Now look at QLD. Best beaches in the world. Best weather. Best lifestyle on the planet, genuinely. And that’s exactly the problem in some cases , and why many kids who have the world at their feet , don’t make it to their potential. When your worst day still ends with a swim at sunset, why would you grind through an extra hour of ball handling? Why skip the beach with your mates for gym work nobody’s watching? Why give up your school holidays, the ones everyone else is enjoying for two-a-days in the heat? That’s the real coaching challenge here....
