Any apology without a sincere change in behavior is simply manipulation.
And nobody does this more than people who wear the label of a faith without actually living according to its principles.
“I’m Catholic. I believe in Jesus.”
But they lie.
They cheat.
They betray people.
They commit sexual sins.
They exploit others.
Then they say, “I’m sorry.”
And do the exact same thing next week.
Or:
“I’m Muslim. I believe in Islam.”
But they lie.
They deceive.
They drink.
They use drugs.
They commit sexual sins.
Then they say, “I’m sorry.”
And repeat the behavior again.
At some point, “I’m sorry” stops being repentance.
It becomes a permission slip.
A way to relieve your conscience without actually changing your conduct.
And that's the uncomfortable truth:
A religious label means absolutely nothing if your behavior consistently contradicts the principles you claim to believe in.
You can call yourself Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, spiritual, religious, or anything else.
