Mark Dowdle just took backyard ultras to another level. A few months ago, I made a video covering Mark Dowdle's incredible run at the BPN G1M Backyard Ultra, where he set a personal best of 73 laps — roughly 306 miles. Then came the Last Soul Ultra in Germany. 160 runners started. After nearly four days of racing, only Mark Dowdle and Ayyoub "Ello" El Osrouti remained. Mark eventually finished 94 laps — roughly 391 miles — completely destroying his previous PR by 21 laps and becoming the Last Soul standing. But the crazy part is that Mark believes he may have had even more in the tank. With the Backyard Ultra world record sitting at 119 laps, could Mark Dowdle eventually challenge the record? In this video, we break down the Last Soul Ultra, Mark's incredible winning streak, his battle with Ello, his rapid rise on social media, and just how far he might actually be capable of running. How far do YOU think Mark Dowdle can go? Could we eventually see him break the Backyard Ultra...
