Alameda County might reach its highest temperatures this year, according to a heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service. The advisory is active until 10 p.m. on Sept. 10. The advisory, issued early Tuesday, says temperatures may reach 10 to 20 degrees above normal during both the day and night across the Bay Area and Central Coast. Interior high temperatures are forecasted to reach triple digits, ranging from 90 to 105 degrees in the coming days. Coastal high temperatures will reach 70 to 90 degrees. In the advisory, the National Weather Service warns this level of heat may cause heat illnesses, particularly for individuals who are sensitive to high temperatures. It advises individuals to stay hydrated and take precautions when outside, such as wearing lightweight clothes and limiting strenuous activity to the early morning.
