The Marching Illini extends its heartfelt condolences to the University of Iowa and the Hawkeye Marching Band after the passing of Derek Phillips. Every B1G band is part of one family, and today, that family comes together in a significant time of loss. While most of our members did not know Derek personally, many of our students and staff have been extending support to their friends in the Hawkeye Marching Band and the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps. Our thoughts are with them today and will be throughout the season. Go Hawks #DIFD With True Illini Spirit, The University of Illinois Marching Illini #DIFD 🔺💛🖤
