Mateo Castillo-Bonde is only 11 years old, but the Minneapolis guitarist has already performed in front of thousands at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. Known as “Minneapolis Mateo,” the sixth grader joined Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis during their homecoming concert to help honor late Minneapolis Sound guitarist Jellybean Johnson. Mateo recreated Johnson’s signature solo from Janet Jackson’s “Black Cat” — a performance that earned rave reviews from the crowd.
