Two Valley men have been arrested following an investigation into a July crash near Forest Lakes that took the life of a 17-year-old boy.
According to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened July 3 on Forest Service Road 330. Deputies responded to the scene, and the investigation continued for several weeks as detectives conducted interviews, reviewed evidence and records, and worked with the Arizona Department of Public Safety to obtain additional vehicle data.
On August 28, authorities arrested 19-year-old Carter Travis of Glendale. He faces charges including second-degree homicide, three counts of aggravated assault, felony endangerment and DUI-related offenses.
The following day, 25-year-old Joseph Ohlendorf of Tempe was arrested. He faces manslaughter and four counts of furnishing alcohol to minors.
Authorities have not publicly released the 17-year-old’s identity or provided a full account of exactly what led to the crash and the allegations against each man.
