A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a 75-year-old man passed away inside a central Phoenix home. Police say a woman went to check on her father Wednesday after she had not heard from him for several days. First responders were called to a home near 10th Street and Devonshire Avenue, just north of Indian School Road, where officers found 75-year-old Fred Celaya unresponsive with obvious signs of trauma. While officers were investigating, police say they received a call from a local hospital informing them that 26-year-old Mateo Celaya was there and wanted to confess to injuring Fred. Because of Mateo’s medical condition, detectives were not able to interview him until Thursday. He was later arrested and booked on one count of second-degree murder. Mateo is being held on a $750,000 bond. Police have not publicly confirmed the exact relationship between the two men. #Arizona #Phoenix #PhoenixAZ #ArizonaNews
