A Scottsdale condo owner found out someone was allegedly trying to sell his $1.3 million property without his knowledge. The person accused of doing it just happened to have the exact same first and last name.
Police say 26-year-old Nathan Lucas Underwood broke into a luxury Scottsdale condo owned by a Nebraska resident who spends part of the year in Arizona, then allegedly attempted to put the property up for sale.
According to court documents, Underwood met with a realtor inside the condo and claimed he had acquired the company that owned it. The realtor reportedly became suspicious after noticing several things that did not add up, including Underwood parking in a guest area, providing incorrect information about the company and never asking about the realtor’s commission.
Meanwhile, the actual owner realized something was wrong after his cleaning crew was unable to retrieve a spare key. He later received paperwork from a title company asking whether he was selling the condo.
