At the same time, the main reason that many people go into surgery and medicine, in general, is that they enjoy helping people. That certainly was the main reason for me. 🚨 Before anyone gets bent out of shape in the comments about this post, I’m an orthopedic surgeon; we are known for having some of the biggest egos in the business. At the end of the day though, we mostly just want our patients to do well… and we don’t want to have to look at any EKGs or try to solve any medical problems that don’t involve bones.
