Baseball umpires sometimes make controversial decisions. One famous example is Ángel Hernández, who was known for questionable calls and became one of the most criticized umpires in MLB history. In August 2025, during a Minor League game between the Quad Cities River Bandits and the Great Lakes Loons, umpire Richy Arredondo ejected three people from the River Bandits in the same inning. First, he threw out the catcher, Canyon Brown, after an argument. Then, the manager, Jesús Azuaje, was ejected for arguing about a call. Finally, things got completely out of control when the umpire also ejected the team’s bat boy. He was bringing replacement baseballs when he got into an argument with the umpire and was thrown out too.
