#PeopleofJSU: “Being here at Jackson State made me realize that I can’t control every detail of my life. I had to let go and trust God’s plan for me. When I arrived at JSU in 2022, I was drawn in by its STEM program, my cousin’s legacy and the warmth of the student ambassadors who made campus feel like home. I enrolled as a computer science major aiming for a career in cybersecurity; however, my sophomore year changed the trajectory of my journey. I struggled with my classes, felt isolated and questioned whether college was even right for me. Then, during the summer after my sophomore year, I discovered my true passion: creativity and digital storytelling.
