San Francisco State University President Lynn Mahoney announced her retirement in an email sent to students and faculty earlier this morning. Mahoney cites her commitment to her family for retirement. She plans on exiting SFSU once the academic year has concluded. Co-chair of Young Democratic Socialists of America SFSU chapter and humanities graduate student, Char Bennett, believes that Mahoney’s legacy will leave behind mixed feelings. “It’s disappointing to see that she’s retiring. It’s been great to work with her on open negotiations,” Bennett said. “Divesting from weapons manufacturing is going to be the highlight of her tenure, but the conditions of staff, faculty, and students aren’t going to shine as brightly.” 🔗 Read at the link in our bio ✍️: Jovanni Alvarado (jio.talks) 📸: Isabella Balzarano #sfsu #sfstate #csu
