9/8 is #988Day, a national day to raise awareness and recognize the impact of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Since launching in 2022, millions of Californians have called, texted, or chatted with 988 for support. Recent research has shown that in the lifeline’s first 2.5 years, suicide deaths among young people were approximately 11% lower than expected. The Steinberg Institute is proud to support this life-saving resource for Californians.
