Why does Lord Ganesha have only one tusk? There is a beautiful story behind it. When Parashurama came to Mount Kailash to meet Lord Shiva, Ganesha stood at the entrance and refused to let him pass while Shiva was resting. What began as a disagreement became a confrontation. Parashurama eventually raised the divine axe given to him by Mahadev. Ganesha recognized the weapon. And then came the moment that defines the story. Ganesha chose not to stop his father’s weapon. The axe struck him, breaking one of his tusks. But what looked like a wound became a symbol. A symbol of duty over ego. Respect over anger. Strength with restraint. And forgiveness after conflict.
