There are some places that hold pieces of your story long before you realize how important they’ll become.
Yesterday, I returned to one of mine.
Morris F. X. Jeff Stadium officially entered a new chapter with a ribbon cutting celebrating its revitalization and new turf… a field that will serve Edna Karr, L.B. Landry and generations of young people across New Orleans. As a proud Edna Karr alum, this was deeply personal. My photography journey started on this very field… photographing Karr and Landry games with no idea where that camera would eventually take me.
Years later, it led me to the Mayor’s Office… and yesterday I stood on a completely transformed field documenting its dedication alongside Mayor Helena Moreno and leaders from our community. The stadium has changed… the field has changed… my life has changed.
But my purpose hasn’t.
Tell the story… honor the community… and never forget where it all started.
