Twenty one years ago, Kanye West became a voice for New Orleans when so many chose silence. With one sentence on national television, he called out the abandonment Black New Orleanians were experiencing after Hurricane Katrina. The Superdome, once filled with suffering, fear and unimaginable loss, held nearly 70,000 people in celebration last night. A place once defined by despair was overflowing with joy, music and life. I am grateful I was there to witness such a powerful full circle moment. You stood with us when it mattered most, Ye. You will forever be welcomed and loved in New Orleans. #AppleIphone17
