I’ve been trying to find the words to describe KickNBack Year 2… and I keep coming back to one word: HOME. Algiers raised me. The Westbank shaped me. The Cutoff will always be a part of who I am. So being able to pour back into the same community that poured into me means more than I can explain. Year 1 showed me the idea could work. Year 2 showed me what happens when a village believes in it. More than 500 people came through our doors. Over 40 volunteers showed up to serve. Sponsors and partners gave their resources, relationships, time and trust to help us create something special for our kids and families. And behind that village is my village. My family. My close knit circle. My partner. My mother. The people who see the late nights, the stress, the crazy ideas, the “no’s” that turn into “I’ll figure it out”… and still stand beside me through all of it. Thank you.
