Broncos assistant coaches Joe Lombardi and Pete Carmichael reached out to Drew Brees to gauge his interest in starting the AFC Championship game in place of the injured Bo Nix last season, per Adam Schefter. Brees, 47, felt discomfort in his wrist after working out and decided not to come out of retirement. Head coach Sean Payton reportedly did not find out about the plot until the offseason. #broncos #saints #drewbrees #neworleans #nfl
