On May 14, 2026, Mauricio went to a routine ICE check-in where he was taken and later deported to Brasil, leaving Leonor to care for their three children alone. Their 15-year-old son has Type 1 diabetes and needs insulin and ongoing medical care. Their 9-year-old daughter is autistic and requires childcare. Their 6-year-old daughter is struggling with being separated from her father. Leonor is now carrying the medical care, childcare, food and living expenses while also trying to obtain a passport so her 9-year-old daughter can reunite with Mauricio in Brasil. This is another family torn apart by ICE, and another reminder that the damage does not stop with the person who is deported. It reaches the children, the spouse and everyone left trying to hold the family together. If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, PLEASE SHARE this until it reaches someone who can. Thank you moco_irc for sharing this familias story. #familia #deportation #iceraids #autistic #latinos
