A new study suggests that adults who naturally walk at a faster pace may be more likely to maintain their brain health as they age. Researchers found that people over 80 with the fastest walking speeds were about 50% less likely to develop cognitive impairment, according to a study published in Neurology. The fast walkers also showed slower declines in memory and thinking skills and tended to have better-preserved parts of the brain involved in memory.
