The City of Malibu, California, issued an evacuation order and declared a local emergency on September 8 along a stretch of coastline where pounding surf and coastal erosion caused a large sinkhole to open near a home. The beachfront house belongs to actor Nicolas Cage, according to multiple media reports. The city’s emergency proclamation said the sinkhole poses an imminent danger to homes and residents in the area. Fire, sheriff’s, and emergency services officials warned that conditions could worsen with high tides and rain associated with former Hurricane Marie, as well as during the upcoming El Niño season. #sinkhole #malibu #usa #nicolascage
