Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned a new documentary about Gaza as part of what he described as a global campaign of incitement against Jews.
Netanyahu made the comments on Monday, two days after NAZA won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival.
The film received a 25-minute standing ovation when it was screened on Thursday.
Netanyahu said the documentary presented a distorted picture of the conflict and accused its creators of promoting hostility toward Israel and Jews.
The film’s award comes amid growing international attention on the humanitarian situation in Gaza and criticism of Israel’s military operations in the territory.
