Ukraine is prepared to take “de-escalatory steps” if Russia does the same, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, as the United States pushes for a mutual halt to attacks on energy infrastructure.⁣ ⁣ In his daily address, Zelenskyy said Ukraine was ready to support a proposal to stop Russian strikes on critical infrastructure, provided Kyiv’s forces also halted such attacks.⁣ ⁣ He did not confirm US President Donald Trump’s claim that Russia and Ukraine had already agreed not to target energy facilities.⁣ ⁣ Zelenskyy said Russia was under pressure from Ukraine’s attacks on its war economy, but had so far shown no genuine willingness to end the conflict.⁣ ⁣ “If our American partners succeed in securing a real readiness from Russia to stop this war of destroying lives, and to do so sincerely and for the long term, Ukraine will make its own de-escalatory steps,” he said.⁣ ⁣ #Ukraine #Russia #Zelenskyy #Energy #Ceasefire #DonaldTrump #Conflict
