Videos of tourists cheering and high-fiving one another on an escalator inside a mountain tunnel have gone viral on Chinese social media.⁣ ⁣ It all started when a Chinese tourist reached out to strangers for a high-five. Soon, the simple gesture turned into a joyful chain reaction, with tourists from different countries joining in. Now, it’s becoming a must-do experience for visitors to Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie, central China’s Hunan Province.⁣ ⁣ Stretching nearly 900 meters and rising 340 meters through the mountain, the Tianmen Mountain Escalator began operating in 2015. Zhangjiajie is famous for its thousands of towering sandstone pillars and breathtaking mountain landscapes, which inspired the floating mountains in James Cameron’s Avatar.⁣ ⁣ #Zhangjiajie #ChinaMoments #ChinaTravel #Avatar #Tianmenmountains
