Monday (September 7) saw the opening of Europe's largest carbon capture facility by the Norwegian fertilizer company Yara International.
The plant, located in the southern Dutch region of Zeeland, will liquefy up to 800,000 tons of CO₂ annually.
EU Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth Wopke Hoekstra said the project "works from a climate perspective, from a competitiveness perspective, and an independence perspective".
