More than forty years ago, countries came together to stop the destruction of the ozone layer. That global commitment led to the Montreal Protocol, one of the most successful environmental agreements in history, which phased out nearly all ozone-depleting substances As a result, the ozone layer began to heal — an inspirational example of how the international community can unite to tackle global challenges.
