After decades of traveling to Mexico, Michael Emery had formed a philosophy around his love for everything the country, and specifically the Baja peninsula offered, and the necessity in taking time to absorb one’s surroundings. What better a slow and sensory vehicle than a 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser, complete without a roof or windows, allowing all the senses in each mile to be absorbed, felt, and appreciated. @turtlewax sent long time collaborator @samhurly to Baja California, Mexico alongside @slowbaja for the 2022 NORRA Mexican 1000, where Emery leads the slowest non-race classes in the “Slow Baja Safari” class. 1,300 miles in five days.
