Bought this guy eight years ago today. Cheers to the car and era that fired up my curiosity for photography. Also the first photo was one of my first editing in Lightroom- what a world that kicked off. #Patina28 At the time (late 2014) the E30 I had was a rusty pile of trouble, and I was riding my bike to work at the local BMW dealership- I got a flat on my bike and said “fuck this, I need another car.” A Toyota was supposed to be it, but then I double checked local classifieds with friends. The ad for a 1986 535i had no photos, but said it had coilovers and euro bumpers- hook line and sinker. 2/10 was one of my first BMW Instagram reposts back when Insta was different. 4/10 was lit in pitch dark with an iPhone SE light. 5/10 still pops up in my head often. 9 and 10/10 are the only fully mechanically respectable E28’s in the whole lot; The engine has always been incredible, namely just past problems with suspension and a poor previous owner.
