Before we label it as “just ADHD,” I think we need to ask another question: how is this child sleeping and breathing? Sleep-disordered breathing in kids can show up in ways parents may not immediately connect to the airway — difficulty focusing, hyperactivity, behavioral changes, restless sleep, mouth breathing, snoring, and daytime fatigue. That doesn’t mean every child with ADHD has an airway issue, and it doesn’t mean airway treatment replaces an ADHD evaluation. But I do believe sleep and breathing deserve a seat at the table. At SOCO, airway screening is part of how we look at the whole child, not just the teeth. If your child is struggling with focus, sleep, mouth breathing or snoring, it may be worth asking: has anyone evaluated their airway yet? #AirwayOrthodontics #PediatricDentistry #ADHDKids #SleepDisorderedBreathing #MouthBreathing
