Before the world’s most recognizable sports watches emerged, the Oyster Perpetual ‘Bubbleback’ established the principles that would come to define Rolex: waterproofness, automatic winding, and everyday reliability.
Now on display at
#SothebysHongKong are eight Rolex Bubblebacks from the 1930s and 1940s. Together, they provide a glimpse into one of the most important periods in the Swiss watchmaker’s history, when the foundations of the modern wristwatch were being laid.
The now-immediately recognizable Bubbleback case shape is represented here in steel, gold, and two-tone with varying dial designs, starting with the Ref. 3131 (estimated between 120,000 - 300,000 HKD).
Bid now on this and more at the link in bio ahead of the live Important Watches sale, taking place 18-19 September.
Luxury Week is presented by LuxuryGroup.Official.
