An AI researcher quit and gave a chilling reason Jacob Coxon spent three years working on AI at OpenAI and Anthropic, then walked away. He believes AI could become powerful enough to kill all humans within the next decade. Anthropic's own senior safety researcher Evan Hubinger publicly agreed, putting the odds at over 10% within a decade. He also admitted they don't yet have a plan to solve it, and aren't clearly on track to. One researcher left out of fear. Another still there says the danger is real, and unsolved.
