Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! 💙
At Voices for Children, we know that for youth in foster care, staying connected to their cultural roots and primary language is vital for their well-being and sense of identity. Navigating the foster care and court system can be confusing and overwhelming for any child. But for Spanish-speaking youth, language barriers can make the process incredibly intimidating and isolating.
Currently, there is a critical need for bilingual Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) who speak both Spanish and English. Having a CASA who speaks their primary language ensures a child can communicate clearly, express their needs without translation, and understand what is happening in their case. It instantly builds a bridge of trust and safety.
Your language skills can change a child's life. Become a bilingual CASA.
