What happens to culture when crisis strikes? For the past 10 years, UNESCO’s Heritage Emergency Fund (HEF) has helped communities prepare for and respond to conflicts and disasters, safeguarding heritage, supporting culture professionals and helping communities recover. HEF-supported projects take many forms, from emergency preparedness and protecting collections to sustaining cultural livelihoods and safeguarding heritage affected by disasters. But they share one goal: helping safeguard the culture and heritage that matter #ForThePeople. Since 2015, HEF has mobilised more than USD 16 million and supported activities in more than 100 countries, including 35 in Africa and 20 Small Island Developing States. 👉 Swipe through some of the stories from 10 years of impact. #HEF
