**The first Green Lantern was not a hero—he was a prisoner whose story was buried for billions of years.** 💚 In the Volthoom storyline, a scientist trying to save his dying world reaches the Maltusians, teaches them about the emotional spectrum, and receives the first power ring. But when that power begins to break him, the Guardians make a choice that turns a gift into a cage. The twist is what makes this lore hit so hard: the earliest rings are not only symbols of protection. They are also part of the system built to contain the man who helped make them possible. **Does Volthoom read more like a villain, a victim, or both?** Make your case below. #Volthoom #FirstLantern #GreenLantern #GreenLanternCorps #DCComics #DCUniverse #EmotionalSpectrum #DCLore #ComicBookReels #ComicBookCommunity #DCFans #CosmicComics #ComicTok #ReelsInstagram #Lanterns #GreenLantern #HalJordan #JohnStewart #GuyGardner
