Architect Stanford White's final project stands at the top of a hill in Brooklyn's Fort Greene Park. A column rising 148 feet, the Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument honors over 10,000 Revolutionary War prisoners who perished aboard British prison ships docked off Brooklyn's shoreline.
