“God’s spirit was present, even amid the rubble.” President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J., delivered the homily during our Mass of the Holy Spirit on Friday, the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. “God knows you, God loves you and God gives God’s spirit to you, not simply so that you can feel God’s presence, so that you can become God’s presence … for one another … in our world.” The Mass is one in which our community gathers to thank God and to seek the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit for the new school year, a Jesuit school tradition for hundreds of years.
