With nearly 1M people barred from voting due to a felony conviction, Florida remains the leader in felony disenfranchisement. In 2018, Florida voters passed Amendment 4 to restore voting rights to most people after their sentences were completed. In 2019, legislation passed that made restoration conditional on payment of all restitution, fees, and fines. In 2020, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the law requiring payment. No one should have to pay to participate in our democracy! #FreeTheVote
