On this day in 1920, Phoenix College opened its doors for the very first time with a class of just 18 students.
Then, in 1960, Phoenix College became part of the Maricopa County Community College District — helping lay the foundation for what would grow into one of the largest community college systems in the country.
From 18 students to more than 1 million who have studied at Phoenix College, its impact is endless. Today, more than 17,000 students attend PC, with more than 150 degree and certificate programs to choose from.
