This is a short fragment from one of my Zoom sessions with my students, but I wanted to bring this conversation here as well. Toners can be a controversial subject in aesthetics, and there are definitely different opinions about whether we need them. In this video, I’m sharing mine.Toners can also be alkaline, but alkaline toners are not intended for a regular daily skincare routine. In professional aesthetic treatments, alkaline solutions may be used for specific purposes, particularly during desincrustation to help soften sebum and prepare congested skin for comedone extractions. Outside of these specific professional applications, repeatedly exposing the skin to strongly alkaline products can disrupt normal barrier function and temporarily raise the skin’s surface pH. This can contribute to dryness, irritation, and increased sensitivity, especially when the exposure is frequent or prolonged. #helenapahavamethod #skincare #spa
