🍎🍏Let’s make homemade apple strudel scones paired with some rose lemonade to take with us to Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music Sing-A-Long at the Hollywood Bowl! Apple Strudel is one of Austria’s iconic desserts but I wanted to add in a bread component to make it extra on theme for The SoundofMusic! Who doesn’t love jam and my version of bread this year, along with “raindrops on roses.” :) A few fun facts about The Sound of Music: The movie premiered in 1965 and won 5 Academy Awards, including Best Picture “Edelweiss” was the last song ever written by RodgersandHammerstein (and nope, it’s not actually an Austrian folk song!) The music remains timeless. “Do-Re-Mi,” “My Favorite Thing” and “Climb Ev’ry Mountain” still give chills 61 years later And let’s not forget—Melissa Peterman’s pre-show costume contest is everything.
