Most folks have been to a parade. But have you ever been to a puppet parade? How about a GIANT puppet parade?
If you haven’t marked that off of your bucket list, this weekend’s your chance. That’s why we’ve decided to highlight this event in its own special
#ThisIsVirginia shoutout.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, the “The Procession of Appalachian Species” will kick off a fun event at Lineberry Park in Floyd. The parade starts at 11, and festive activities will continue until 2 p.m.
Primarily organized by Springhouse, and in partnership with the community, the festivities will include the procession, food, music, dancing, and more. Participants are encouraged to bring homemade puppets and costumes representative of a species found in the New River Valley.
