Oklahoma State opened Big 12 Conference play with a 3-1 win over 14th-ranked TCU Thursday night at Neal Patterson Stadium.
With the victory, the Cowgirls improved to 5-2-2, while TCU dropped to 3-3-1. The win snapped OSU's seven game losing streak against the Horned Frogs; it's the Cowgirls' first win in the series since 2017. It also marks OSU's first win over a ranked opponent since opening the 2024 season by beating No. 6 Nebraska.
Each of OSU's goals came in the second half, and Avery Bass finished with an OSU-career high seven saves while facing 25 shots and five corner kicks.
Bass tallied three saves in the opening half, including a spectacular kick save on a close-range shot by Madison Taylor to keep the visitors off the scoreboard.
Within the first minute of the second half, OSU took the lead. Sonora DeFini collected the ball near the top of the box and delivered a shot past the TCU goalie for her fourth goal of the season and a 1-0 OSU advantage.
