Let me tell you this 👇🏾 If you know my story, you know the only distance I’ve ever trained for is 26.2Miles. My old 5K PB was ran in the half marathon distance. I have never once trained for a 5K, so I can’t say I have ever prioritized speed work the same way one does for shorter distances. Today’s session was a 5K at my 10K race pace goal in the heat. So I didn’t try to PR in the 5K distance. What you see here is an adaptation. Pacing discipline. A byproduct of weeks of aerobic development, threshold work, VO2 sessions, consistency, and running economy. It shows I’ve actually got the speed in me without trying hard. corosglobal Data (avg): - Cadence: 178 - Ground Contact: 207ms - Stride: 3.7 in - Power: 352 W Nothing screams mechanical breakdown. 6:18-6:19 pace felt automatic under the sun.
