This would be insane 😲⁠ ⁠ The leaders of the SNP, Plaid Cymru and Sinn Féin have signed a landmark agreement in Cardiff calling on Westminster to recognise the right of people in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to determine their own constitutional futures.⁠ ⁠ John Swinney, Rhun ap Iorwerth and Michelle O’Neill met in their capacities as party leaders, rather than on behalf of their respective governments. The memorandum calls for the UK Government to “prepare, plan and facilitate constitutional change” and for greater cooperation between the three parties.⁠ ⁠ It does not mean the UK is immediately breaking up, with any constitutional change requiring further political and legal processes.
