Anythink Nature Library in Thornton was built to completely rethink what a library can be.
Of course, there are books, computers, study rooms and all the things you’d expect. But there’s also a nature and science lab, indoor boulders for kids to climb, gardens, peaceful spaces to slow down, a dark room with a starry sky and a one-mile trail right outside. They even offer nature-based programs ranging from gardening and nature identification to mindfulness and art.
One of the coolest parts? The library actually helps make getting outside more accessible. Colorado residents can get a free Anythink library card and borrow outdoor gear like GPS units, wildlife cameras, tents, kayaks and more.
It’s a place that makes learning, getting outside and trying something new a little more accessible, and we’re pretty sure there’s nowhere else quite like it.
