September 12, 2026 Lane Kiffin's LSU Tigers survived a bumpy, turnover-plagued night to pull away from Louisiana Tech in the fourth quarter, holding off the upset-minded Bulldogs 45-14 in a game far more competitive than the final score suggests. LSU's offense was out of sorts from the start, opening the game with a three-and-out and never quite finding its rhythm. Quarterback Sam Leavitt turned in one of the strangest stat lines of the young season, rushing for three touchdowns while also throwing three interceptions. Two of those picks came in the closing minutes of the first half, with Louisiana Tech's Jordan McCrae returning one 100 yards for a touchdown after a forced throw into coverage, before Leavitt threw a third interception near the goal line.
