Kentucky 17, Alabama 45
Kroger Field, Lexington, KY. September 12, 2026
12th-ranked Alabama overcame a sloppy first half and a 17-13 halftime deficit, outscoring Kentucky 32-0 after the break to run away with a 45-17 SEC-opening win in Lexington.
The opening half was rocky for the Crimson Tide. Kentucky linebacker Mi'Quise Humphrey-Grace intercepted a Keelon Russell pass and returned it for a touchdown, and Alabama linebacker Luke Metz answered in kind with a 34-yard pick-six of his own, but Kentucky's offense, led by Kenny Minchey, stayed steady enough to carry a 17-13 lead into the break after a Kentucky field goal on the final play of the half. Two promising Alabama scoring chances in the first half had to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns, part of a frustrating opening 30 minutes for Kalen DeBoer's team.
Alabama flipped the script after halftime. Conor Talty's third field goal...
