DuckTales premiered on September 18, 1987. Nearly four decades later, director Gabriel Olson decided to create the movie trailer he always wished existed. Growing up with the series, Olson loved its sense of adventure and described it as “Indiana Jones for kids.” When no official movie was being made, he decided to bring his own vision to life. Using generative AI, Olson built the trailer one shot at a time, combining the technology with 16 years of experience as a director, all without the backing of a major studio. The result is an unofficial, non-commercial fan-made trailer created as a tribute to the show he grew up loving.
