A new plan to prevent flooding — and provide some shade — is in bloom in Brooklyn. The first of its kind in NYC, a garden was installed on top of a bus shelter in Brownsville. The hope is that it will help cool down the bus station during hot days and absorb some of the water on rainy days that have been causing persistent flooding problems for the area.
